Pastor: Elder Herman Simms

Elder Herman L. Simms was saved by being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Ghost speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance as a young adult.

The Sermon Onthe Mount Temple of Joy Apostolic Faith began under the leadership of Elder Herman L. Simms and he has been the only pastor. He has labored in the doctrine with the church and has preached the Apostles' Doctrine at many locations on the East Coast over the many years. His hands have been strengthened by the Spirit of God both spiritually and otherwise which enabled him to complete major portions of the new sanctuary with his labor.

He has been married to his "one wife" (Mother Bertha Simms) for almost 40 years. They have six children. Both have continued together with the church and in the doctrine.
